Ageism is silent but real. Hiring managers are often internally assessing both older and younger employees for reasons based on their age. Older employees can be thought to be one step away from retirement (so not commited), or unwilling or unable to learn the technology needed to keep up. For younger employees, it's no better - just different. Employers wonder whether they're willing to put in the time needed to really learn and grow or whether they expect some sort of fast track. Another common bias against younger people is whether they have the judgment and maturity to work well with others.

These biases - plus many others - are real but they don't have define or stop you. There are ways you can pre-empt or combat these underlying assumptions and we'll discuss several of them during this presentation. Strategies and ideas for both younger and older job seekers will be covered.
